Communiqué
The
Islamic groups in Iraq have threatened Yanar Mohammed. Yanar is
one of the most well-known women activists in Iraq. Her
activities in defending women’s rights have been so valuable
and popular that have made the Islamic groups to resort to the
only way they know how to silence her and her movement. They
have threatened to kill her. Intimidation and creating an
atmosphere of terror has always been the way Islamic groups
operate. We must stand firm against it.
Organisation
for Women’s Liberation-Iran strongly condemns such atrocities
and stands by Yanar and women’s liberation movement in Iraq.
We urge all to join our campaign to push back Islamic groups in
Iraq and defend Yanar.
